Feed back Forms Analysis October 2002

This is a summary of all the feed back forms returned to us by 10 October 2002, following the public exhibition at Portchester Community School on 28 and 29 September, the public meeting at the school on 30 September, and the display of the exhibition at the Portchester Library during October.

Public Response

68 forms were returned (approx 30% of total of residential properties)

21 from residents in Castle Grove (71 properties adjacent)

2 from residents in Jubilee Road (18 properties)

15 from residents in Myrtle Avenue (72 properties adjacent)

25 from residents in Sunning dale Road (or backing onto that road; 69 adjacent)

5 from residents in White Hart Lane (19 affected)

This is out of a total of 239 properties likely to be affected by the scheme.  10 properties are located at junctions, and may be affected by works in adjacent roads.

148 people visited the exhibition on Saturday 28 September, and 60 people on Monday 30 September; about 70 people attended the evening presentation on the 30th.

Issues

The feedback forms have given us further detail for use in preparing for the workshops.  Technical studies to assess your ideas are being undertaken, and will be presented at the future workshops.

These include traffic movement surveys, options for improving parking at the front of properties within the street, further land ownership researches, and consultations with the schools.

Street Representatives

Most people thought these are a good idea (50).  Some are unsure, and concerned that representatives may not represent other people's views very well, or only be interested in things directly affecting their own properties or needs (8).  4 people did not agree, and said they would prefer feedback forms or letters to be used, with open meetings and/or newsletters.

Proposed Way Forward

It is suggested that we slightly change the way we develop the proposals in response to the ideas you have given us in your feedback forms.
