Background

The Bidston Avenue area consists of terraced and semi-detached housing and a number of blocks of flats.  The area also has a grassed area in the centre.

Scheme Objectives

Make better use of the space in the area
Improve access for service vehicles
Remove hazards presented by untidy and obstructive parking
Improve street lighting
Remove/treat rutted grass areas
Improve existing footways

Impacts

The residents of the Home Zone area became much more aware of each other and in almost all cases cooperated with each other in design decisions.  People are much more prepared to speak to each other by the end and are now proud of the area. 84% of residents are satisfied with the scheme according to a recent survey.

Scheme now completed.  No further reporting required.
