To be able to submit a suitable bid for Home Zone funding, the views of the residents had to be demonstrated in detail.

Officers had a very good idea that parking was a major issue, but needed to discover what else concerned the home owners in the proposed zone.

Questionnaires were given to every household in the area and  the main points made were :

·       Vehicle speeds too high

·       Dangerous for children to play

·       Rat running

·       Traffic restrictions may worsen problems in other nearby streets

·       Insufficient parking available

·       Verges damaged

·       Amenity of the area impaired by indiscriminate parking

·       Inability of emergency/service vehicles to get through the street

·       Lighting inadequacies

·       Non residential traffic and parking problems

·       Noise/vandalism

·       Dog fouling/litter

·       Poor footway surfacing
